East West College welcomes students of any sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, color, national or ethnic origin or religion. All applicants are considered equally without regard to sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, color, national or ethnic origin, or religion.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible to apply for admission to East West College, you must be at least 18 years of age by program completion, possess a high diploma from an accredited U.S. high school, or its equivalent as determined by the College, or a G.E.D. In addition, you must be able to perform and receive massage safely on a regular basis.

Admission Procedure:

  1. Submit an Application. Fill out the application form enclosed in the catalog and mail it to East West College, or complete the applicaton in person with an Admissions Representative, or apply online at www.eastwestcollege.com. All parts of the application must be filled out completely. Applications remain acative for one year after the date of submission.
  2. Submit an Application Fee. A non-refundable $25 application fee must be submitted with the Application for Admissions.
  3. Provide the Required Documents. You must provide (1) proof of graducation from and accredited U.S. high school, college or university or the equivalent as determined by the College; or a written report showing you have passed a G.E.D. exam; (2) written evidence that you have received a massage from a Licensed Massage Therapist; (3) proof of age; and (4) documentation of disabilities (if applicable).
  4. Meet with an Admissions Representative. You must schedule a personal interview with an Admissions Representative so the College can certify that you meet its entrance requirements and are a good candidate for the massge therapy profession. During the personal interview, you will be given an entrance exam to verify that you have the ability to benefit from an East West College program. For applicants who reside outside of the Portland metropolitan area, a telephone interview may be arranged with an Admissions Representative.
  5. Acceptance and Enrollment

    Applicants ar notified in writing of their acceptance into an East West College program within fourteen days of the decision by the Admissions department. Upon acceptance, prospective students must complete the following steps in order to enroll in the college:

    1. Sign an Enrollment Agreement. This agreement outlines the program in which the student is enrolled, program costs (including tuition and fees), type of payment and terms and conditions of enrollment. Students are responsible for all financial, academic and other policies in effect at the time they sign their Enrollment Agreement.
    2. Submit a Registration Fee. A $100 registration fee must be submitted with the Enrollment Agreement. If an enrolled student elects to cancel their enrollment within five days of the date of enrollment, and before the commencement of classes, this fee will be refunded.
    3. Complete any Missing Documentation. Any missing application materials must be submitted prior to the first day of classes.
    4. Make Financial Arragements. Students should make arrangements for payment of tuition and fees. Students requiring Financial Aid must meet with the Financial Aid Manager prior to starting school.
    5. If all of these steps in the enrollment process are not complete within 14 days of the start of the term, the student's enrollment may be cancelled.
    6. Transfer of Credit

      East West College may accept transfer credit for a course completed at another college if that course is substantially equivalent in length and content to the corresponding East West College course and the student passes the appropriate East West College challenge exam(s). There is a $150 fee per course for taking challenge exams. Details are available from an Admissions Representative.
