Massage Magazine - US/Canada laws

Most locations in the United States and throughout the world require a license to practice professional massage. Currently, more than 39 states license or regulate massage practitioners. Most require a minimum of 500 hours of education and a board examination for licensure. States may also delegate to their cities or counties the power to license or regulate massage practitioners. In most cases, specific curriculum and hourly requirements are necessary to qualify for licensure. Prospective students should learn exactly what is required to practice massage in the state, city, or county where they intend to set up business and choose an appropriate massage program for those requirements.

East West College programs currently meet or exceed the requirements of most licensing boards in the United States.
